These two phrases are combination of two separate words “New” and “Song”. In defining song, we can simply say it’s making melodies and rhythms with words. It is a composition of lyrics and music that is purposeful. The word “New” simply means fresh, pure, something that has not been in existence. Old will therefore be the opposite of New. Combining them together, new song would mean a fresh composition of lyrics and music. Note that this may be a literal meaning whereas a new song goes deeper than that. It goes beyond the newness of lyrical composure, in this context new song means more of a song producing a fresh meaning/revelation/understanding of the lyrics to a singer and so we can say an old song can become a new song t...
