A NEW SONG (PSALM 98:1)
Elmond Isaiah

Psalm 98:1
O sing unto the LORD a new song; for He hath done marvelous things: His right hand and His Holy arm, hath gotten Him the victory.
Psalm 96:1
O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.
God is not a stagnant God and does not necessarily celebrate one thing longer than needed. God is a moving God and find pleasure in doing new things all the time. He is God who is unchangeable but changes things. He require that we be creative enough to develop and bring to Him new stuffs each time we approach him either in praise and worship, prayers e.t.c. He expect that because in us is the very creative ability just like it is in Him. It is given to us right from when we were born again.
John 1:16 said of His fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.
Received (past-tense). The fullness of God to do anything godly is right there to its climax in our spirit from when we accept Jesus into our lives. You only need to discover how to pull out that reality to the physical by constant renewing of your mind by the spiritual mirror which is the word of God.
If you are like some kind of people who does not crave for newness especially with God then you will soon be out of date.
The scripture starts with O, indicating a level of feels deep from the spirit to the soul of how passionate it is to yarn and relate with God via new songs. It is expressing a deep level of desire and hunger for God via newness. How many of us praise and worship God with such deep feels, understanding and desire for more revelation of Him?
Anything new especially with respect to God talks about freshness, pureness, undefiled, undiluted and attractive. Something you never may have heard, seen, feel, perceived or tested.
The LORD in that scripture is also in uppercase indicating the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. THE LIVING GOD WHO REIGN AND RULES EVEN IN THE AFFAIRS OF MEN. THE MAKER OF HEAVEN AND THE EARTH. WHO HAS YOUR LIFE IN HIS HANDS!
What is this new song even?
Firstly, a new song is a newly or recent composed song either by experimental or strictly technical method.
Experimental method of composing songs is a method in which songs are composed without following the lay down rules for song writing. You just write songs as you are feeling them either in your spirit or soul. And often times you hear the harmony coming alongside the melody of the song. You will then later sit to re-arrange the song. But you must be careful not to change the original test.
Strictly technical method of song writing is when you write songs strictly following the lay down rules of song writing. You take everything step by step. Your harmony comes from chord patterns of how the melody sounds like.
Secondly, a new song is a song that grip your lips and your spirit that you can’t let go off the song. You keep singing it for long time. This may not necessarily be a fresh composed song. It could even be a song you know and sang before, but this time around the song is coming from your inside. Sometimes it’s just a phrase out of the whole song that catches your spirit or your spirit catches it. You just find yourself singing that for long hours and can’t just stop. It happens also sometimes with preachers. You see a preacher raise a song either before preaching or in the midst of the sermon or when conducting deliverance or just in any session fit, then later, the choir changes the song because of their middle level of discernment and understanding of sound and music. When the preacher return to sing again he will then pick the former song he raised. At that point that is a new song to the preacher and many who caught the revelation behind that song.
Why the song stayed that long in your spirit and your lips is because that is what the angels in heaven are singing together with you at that moment. Most times we start to sing first, then if that is what is required in heaven at that moment, the angels will join us to begin to sing the song in heaven and the song last longer in our spirit. That is also why an experienced pianist lower his volume and continue to play the song with such a touch even when the choir has stopped singing. As long the pianist continue, the angels will not stop singing. The atmosphere becomes tense with Gods presence and you see the preacher riding smoothly on such atmosphere dispensing the word of truth with ease. Hallelujah… God indeed inhabits the praise of our lips.
There is enough reason for you to sing a new song to the LORD.
God has deliver you from troubles of all kinds. What other people entered and died, some caught hurtful diseases that cost them their lives in the process but here you are still standing. Isn’t God worth your new song? Count your blessings one after the other if you can, then you will see how good God has been to you.
All the gods of the earth are idols but the LORD made the heavens. Does He not worth your new song?
Friends, if Jesus who is God all by Himself still sings to God who is His father leading us all His brethren into singing praise and worship to God by the revelation of the almighty God He has, then who are you not to acknowledge the greatness of God in your life via rejoicing and singing a new song to Him?
The twenty four elders consistently bow to God in worship right about the throne of God because of the glory of God which they see and is ever new and fresh before their eyes. As soon as they raise their head, they see fresh dimension of God which compels their mind to have them bow down again. And God is not wicked to wipe away from their memory the dimension of His glory they have seen so that they will not recognize it again when they sees it. No! Whatever glory they have seen they will never see it again. It’s a fresh reason always to bow and worship the king. How long have they been doing that and yet it’s ever new? What an awesome God we serve.
Has God not been doing and showing you new things? It’s always time and a new season for new songs great TMS
God has found us worthy to do this. We are grateful to Him.
