IN PURSUITE OF MUSICAL EXCELLENCE



Excellence is the quality of being outstanding or superior in a thing, or over everything as in the case of God. Excellence is what it feels like to have a true taste and feels of God’s mind and desire over everything. It is quite unfortunate that many people including those in the kingdom are always satisfied with the state of moderate quality called ‘mediocre’ in about 85% of their life’s engagements. They have little or no passion and self-motivation driving them for a purposeful life, so they just stop at the middle of the road for anything and feels that’s their best. I think those kind of people need a renewal of mind because many of them are not lacklusters as they have believed themselves to be. Not when they are in GOD.
Jesus our elder brother after encouraging us in Matthew 5 to leave out our GOD-created identity (leaving generously and graciously towards others as God is to us all) concluded in verse 48 that the issue of perfection to GOD is so important that He said it as a command.
Now, perfection means without faults, complete and whole, Ideal or excellence in every way.

Matthew 5:48
You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect. AMP
God didn’t just demand that we be excellent in all we do and all we offer Him because He wants to load us with burden we cannot carry. No! He wants excellence because that’s who He is and that’s the only way we can better enjoy fellowshipping with Him. He knows that we have received His full nature in our spirit when we were born again and we can leave out our lives Just like Him. John 1:16
Excellence is a spirit that every human possesses even though many don’t really mind exploring that vital aspect of their lives.
You may be excellent without God but be sure it won’t last! 
Excellence attracts, and to be excellent in anything it involves you taking conscious and deliberate steps to make proper investment into whatever concerns that thing. It is in this regard I wrote a book titled “In Pursuit of Musical Excellence” to show us the desire of God and His expectation for us in Music.
God didn’t just author music and stay out of it, He is a musician. God is music personified! God sings and plays musical instruments too and that is why music and rejoicing will never cease in heaven.
Beloved, The harps that the overcomers in Revelation 15:2-4 used to worship God with is God’s own. He gave it to them to worship Him. God owns all things.

 Music is one of the best free gift given to us by our loving father (GOD) for easy transport into the Spirit to help us commune with Him easily and to also serve as a healing relaxer to help us completely escape from the various struggles and stresses of life.
The book “In Pursuit Of Musical Excellence” is a most read for everyone thirsty and hungry for understanding the pathway to exude excellence in music. The book is 100% spiritual and 100% physical. It cut across music amateurs and professionals, musically inclined and music novice.
The book is excellent in shaping and sharpening your music skills in few days if you can read it diligently and meditatively to put into practice the deep realities you will find inside.
If even the name of God is excellent how much more His person and His deeds? Psalm 8:1

PRAISE THE LORD WITH UNDERSTANDING
Psalm 47:7 KJV
“For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
    
God has a standard for everything, especial what He choose to accept as a sacrifice, praise or worship from us. If we must praise and worship God through music then it should be in an excellent way. Although there are things deeper than excellent which can only be found in God, because if only His name is excellent then what about His word? He honours His word more than His Excellent name. Psalm 138:2.
Well, since excellent is what we can describe in words as the best then we have to strive for it in all things especially when dealing with God. He deserve it. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name. Psalm 29:2; 98:8 and 1 Chronicles 16:29. His name is excellent Psalm 8:1
Psalm 47:7 above explains how God desires us to praise Him with understanding, firstly of who He is then of what we offer to Him as praises.
What is this understanding?
Understanding is a two words merge together. 
Under-standing, which means to stand under something. But before you stand under a thing to talk about it, it is expected that you most have study it from the out sketch, and have seen that it will be appealing, then you go under it and study it again from the inside. That way you have a deep knowledge about it.
Understanding also means the ability to grasp a meaning of something. The ability to rightly perceive and explain the true nature of somebody or of something is understanding. This is how God expect us to praise Him. It is the understanding of something that tells how you handle it.
The understanding in KJV is translated as Psalm in NIV and Psalm in Hebrews is Psalmos which means to praise or communicate with God with string instrument. Since technology has grown in our days, it will mean to praise or communicate with God with musical instrument. Psalmos means you do not have to praise God with words. It says that musical instrument in your hands communicate even deeper feels and realities than the words of our mouth.

Although the word soaking is not really a scriptural metaphor, it is a term we use to describe a moment of rest, waiting in stillness for the Holy Spirit to fill us again with the Father's love. It can be after prayers, worship session etc. Or you just wait in silence for Him. The key to the “secret place” is “soaking!” Soaking is when you rest in God's presence doing nothing but listening and listening to Him alone. "Soaking" is another term for "active rest".
