PENTECOST

Today is the 31st of May. It's a day that is very strategic not only to TMS but to the entire New Testament Believer and the world at large.

Today is 50 days away from Easter. And by implication, today is Pentecost Day and the celebration of it is currently ongoing in Israel 🇮🇱 for today and tomorrow (Usually Sunday through Monday). Today marks the end of the waiting of the Apostles and disciples to receive the Holy Spirit.

TMS has a program carved out for such a season and it's called THE SOUND OF HEAVEN. We will celebrate this festival from next year by the Grace of God. Amen.

Pentecost comes from a Jewish harvest festival called Shavuot. The apostles were celebrating this festival when the Holy Spirit descended on them. It sounded like a very strong wind, and it looked like tongues of fire. The apostles then found themselves speaking in foreign languages, inspired by the Holy Spirit.

In the book of the Acts of the Apostles the arrival of the Holy Spirit happens fifty days after the resurrection of Christ and is celebrated in Christendom with the feast of Pentecost.

That Means Pentecost is always on Sunday specifically and through to Monday. Some countries give public Holidays for Mondays following the Sunday for this celebration. 2020 Pentecost is today, the 31st of May. And the celebration extends to June 1st.

Also Jesus, after the resurrection on Sunday, took His Blood fresh and guiltless to the Throne of God as our high priest forever, He still appeared to His disciples and continued for 40 days.. Acts 1:3.

During this period as He appeared  to them, He taught them truths about God's Kingdom realm and shared meals with them.

 The Holy Ghost came down upon the Apostles ten days after the Ascension of our Lord; and the day on which He came down upon the Apostles is called Whitsunday, or Pentecost.

But maybe it's not that same day Jesus ascended that the disciples went to the upper room to tarry... We take it to be the day after that. So, if it's so, it will mean that they waited for 9 days in prayers and fasting I suppose. Nine has a very important spiritual significance. Nine means fruits of the Spirit, Divine completion, it means from the Lord.

They waited in fasting and prayers... And the Holy Spirit came also, around 9am.

Part of the major dress code for Pentecost involves red (fire color) indicating the Holy Spirit. And that is
what you see on our logo. As at when the Logo was given to us by the Holy Ghost, I didn't have this depth of knowledge to even associate the fire of the Holy Ghost with it.

In due time we will be enlightened the more about this matter.

TMS Prayers Academic Success Daniel 1:1-21 Lord Jesus, I thank you and I praise you for this day. Thank you for loving me with an everlasting love. Thank you for always taking good care of me. You are just forever the best.
